Had the wonderful opportunity to speak to about 40 members of the Denver Microsoft SQL Server Users Group. I was an extra pleasure as this was the users group where I learned many of my skills before there was Google.
My concepts are based on neurodiversity and more common neurotypicals are the non-tech interviewers. As in my Alien Multiverse concept, the perceiving and processing differences are so great, we can't understand them. I teach to accept them as aliens and learn what the aliens like and don't like. Then do that, regardless of how silly or stupid it seems in your universe.
This presentation was an expansion on a number of topics covered in my book "Geeks Guide to Interviews: 15 Critical Items for the Technical Type".
Due to some technical issues, Tim forgot to turn the camera on the tripod on, there is no audio or video record of this talk. But there are some pictures a few of which I have included here.
While talking to this technical a group about doing non-technical things was a challenge, the presentation was well received with a number of members purchasing my book and others asking questions.
Thank you to the Denver Microsoft SQL Server Users Group. I enjoyed the opportunity.
